Terms and Conditions
The Gunsmith shall undertake only the repairs and/or gunsmithing work as requested by the Customer and set forth in the Repair Order completed when the firearm submitted.
The Customer recognizes, realizes, and by reading and signing the Repair Order, understands that it is by the Customer’s request that these changes/repairs are made and that he/she is also releasing the Gunsmith, both individually and in any business form, from any liability should any accident, loss, damage or injury to persons or property arising from or related to the performance of the agreement including, without limitation, all consequential damages whether or not resulting from the negligence of the Customer or Customer’s agent.
If not determined at the time the firearm was brought in, the Gunsmith will inform the Customer of the cause of malfunction and provide an estimate of repair costs including parts if required.
The Customer can request a written estimate prior to the initiation of repairs. The written estimate will not be exceeded without additional authorization from the Customer.
If upon inspection it is determined that a firearm cannot be repaired to a functional and safe condition, all work will be ceased on the firearm and the Customer will be notified.
A minimum charge of $45 will be assessed for the inspection and diagnosis of firearm malfunction in the event the Customer does not wish to go forward with repairs or if the firearm is determined to be unrepairable or unsafe.
The Gunsmith will under no circumstances accept any illegally modified or NFA listed firearms for repair or modification.
The Gunsmith reserves the right to refuse service for any reason, at any time, at any point in the service process. If labor is ceased, the Customer will be billed for any labor and/or parts costs incurred. The firearm will be returned as is with no guarantees upon receipt of payment.
In the event the Customer does not want to proceed with repairs once work has begun, the Customer will be billed for any labor and/or parts costs incurred. The firearm will be returned as is with no guarantees upon receipt of payment.
Standard shop labor rate of $65/hour is charged to inspect and determine the issues with firearm and complete repairs. Necessary parts, supplies/materials are billed separately.
If parts required to proceed with agreed repairs and/or services exceed $100, the Customer will be notified and required to provide a deposit covering the cost of the specified parts prior to the initiation/continuation of work.
At the completion of repairs or customer specified modifications, all firearms are tested for proper function and that safety features of the firearm perform as required. Firearms in which repair or modification on the firing controls was required will be test fired with appropriate factory ammunition. Unless Customer supplied ammunition is provided, the cost of ammunition will be included in the invoice.
Upon completion, the Customer will be notified telephonically regarding the availability of his/her firearm for pickup. If not retrieved in 30 days, a storage fee of $30 will be assessed. The Gunsmith reserves the right to sell the firearm to a legal purchaser to recover the costs incurred by the Customer if the firearm is not collected by the ORIGINAL CUSTOMER after 60 days. It is at the discretion of the Gunsmith to set the selling price of the firearm. Any portion of the Customer’s incurred costs not covered by the sale will remain the responsibility of the Customer.
It is mandated by law that the individual who submitted the firearm for repair and signed the Repair Order be present to sign the completed Repair Order form and retake possession of the firearm. In the event that the Original Customer is not available or capable to receive the firearm, an individual in possession of the Service Tag Receipt that was provided to the original Customer who is legally qualified to possess a firearm may recover the firearm. This transfer will be dependent on the full payment for services and completion of ATF form 4473 and approved NICS Background Search.
Payments must be made in full at time of pickup by the Customer. Gunsmith services may be paid for via cash, check, money order or Credit Card. Credit Card payments will require a 4% processing fee.
Any checks Denied or Returned for Insufficient Funds will be charged a $50.00 reprocessing fee. If the check is rejected a second time, an additional charge of $25.00 will be added to the invoice balance. The defaulting Customer must remit the owed amount and penalties in CASH within 10 days of notification to avoid legal ramifications.
The Gunsmith provides a 90-day guarantee on labor performed on a Customer’s firearm from the date of return to the Customer. If the same malfunction arises within the 90-day period, additional labor to rectify that specific problem will be at no cost to the Customer.
Aftermarket parts and modifications will NOT be subject to guarantee.
Guarantees DO NOT cover neglect, misuse, abuse, supernatural acts, or modifications made by other parties once the firearm is returned to the Customer. Any new work on operational problems/damage will be initiated on a new Repair Order and billed accordingly.
